Before getting to the heart of the subject, let's remember what is urban art or more commonly called street art : it’s both a movement and a mode of artistic expression. It was established from the end of the 20th century and brings together all the art forms produced in a public space. The work may have been produced using stencil, stickers, mosaics and many others ...

Fresco by a french woman, called Zabou, in the Bethnal Green district of London.
Today, this art wants to be really considered by a large panel of people unlike in previous years when it could be violently criticized and condemned.
Indeed, we are in an area where freedom of expression gives way to a new way of doing it, as in street illustration. These are no longer simple graffiti, the artists wish to convey a message in each work by giving free rein to their imagination, which can give a real masterpiece visible to almost everyone ...
Previously, only those who had the chance to pass on the good street could admire them, take a picture of them and reflect on their message. This is why, this is developing more and more applications allowing the geolocation of street works, attracting the curious and lovers of graffiti (rebellious and ephemeral works).
How it works ? Well it's easy as pie ! When a street art follower crosses a work on his way and he owns the application, he can identify it so that it appears there and allow other members to know that it exists and where it is possible to find her.

We can take the example of the Street Art Cities application which brings together urban works from around the world. Two graphic designers launched this project and have to date more than 25,000 artworks listed in 616 cities, across 79 countries.

This application creates a community of graffiti artists and other street art enthusiasts from around the world ready to document the art of each city. It is very easy to be part of this network since it is enough to take a picture of a street work and submit it to the application.

To conclude, we can say that these applications are also a very good way to visit a city and to know a little more about its history.
